spicy tempeh marinade

The kiddos are away, so Ted and I can get spicy!

And by spicy I mean...we are having spicy tempeh noodle stir fry for dinner 🔥

Tempeh is a fermented soy product that provides a healthy dose of plant based, anti-cancer protein to your meals.

Please allow me to share this simple yet flavoursome marinade recipe with you!

INGREDIENTS

1/4 cup tamari sauce

3cm knob of finely grated ginger

3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped

3 heaped tsp of coconut sugar

1 tsp 5 spice powder

1/8 tsp white pepper

1 heaped tsp chilli flakes

1 block of organic tempeh

METHOD

Combine all ingredients, minus the tempeh, in a bowl. Mix well.

Thinly slice tempeh and then cut into 2.5cm chunks. Add them to your marinade, stir until well combined, cover and place in the fridge for at least 30 mins.

Fry tempeh in a cast iron pan with a generous glug of sesame oil.

We are serving ours with rice noodles, and stir fried onion, garlic, ginger, carrot, capsicum & broccoli. If you want it saucy, double this recipe and keep the marinade aside when you fry the tempeh, then add back in when combining all ingredients at the end.

Also fab in a vermicelli noodle salad with sea sesame seeds, raw julienned carrot and cucumber and finely sliced spring onion and red capsicum. If making this, I recommend doubling your marinade to use as a sauce.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and if you make this drop a review below 👇

Lotsa love, light and abundance (in the form of delicious food and more!),
